My Thoughts on Social Media Envy

It's so easy to get distracted by the people you see on social media and think that what you are doing is not good enough or that somehow no matter how you move, you're always behind the curve. I'm here today to tell you, we all go through it and you have to STOP. Right now. You have to do what works for you and follow your own path. Let them do them and be inspired by it to do YOU. I can't tell you how many times I've logged onto Instagram and literally felt like I was watching another woman live a fairytale life: amazing body, wardrobe, seemingly perfect relationship, has a business or successful in some way, makeup on point, hair always done. Just making me feel like I am not doing enough. We have to reject that feeling. Because it does creep in when it feels like you're struggling to keep up. We must be happy for others being in their season and be grateful for the season you're currently in. Remember, this too, shall pass. Your time is coming as long as you don't get distracted by other people's blessings.

Also, consider who may be looking at the snapshots of your life and feeling the same way. Consider how many you inspire with something you post. God is doing different things in each of our lives at any given time. While you're down, use other people's blessings as inspiration to get back to your happy place. When you're up, use it to inspire someone else. Use social media as a tool for inspiration and motivation, not as a crutch for self-loathing and depression. Seek positivity in all things:

God,

I pray today that whoever is reading this feels inspired in this moment to thank You for the life You have provided for them, regardless of where they are now. I thank You for the good days as well as the bad to always keep us reminded of how much we need You. Thank You for creating each woman exactly as she is to use her gifts and talents in a way to build Your kingdom and inspire and uplift others. In Your name I pray, Amen.
